Hello, My name is Benjamin Austin Draper and I am currently a freshman attending Texas State University. I was born and raised in Roanoke, VA before moving down to the Rio Grande Valley in the south-most part of Texas. Every since I could even remember, my passion has revolved around sports and since I was never really that good playing, I knew that pursuing a career in sports media is the career that I was made for. I am majoring in Electronic Media with a concentration in ‘sports media’ with a minor in communication studies.
Having the chance to do this blog and being able to continue writing stories about the thing I love, which is sports, has been a good experience, yet, learning experience as well. Some thing to know about me are that my favorite sports teams are the Cleveland Browns, Winnipeg Jets, Baltimore Orioles and the Brooklyn Nets. A cool little thing to know about me is that Cleveland Browns QB, Baker Mayfield, is currently my favorite sports player in all sports just because I am biased for my team. My favorite color is Red, my favorite food is chicken and the thing I love to do most to pass time is playing video games with my friends.
As I have stated earlier about sports media being my passion, my dream job is that I want to become a Sports Broadcaster for any big sports media company like ESPN, FOX Sports, CBS or CNBC. I plan to attend Texas State for another year before transferring north to James Madison University where I will hopefully finish my degree in Mass Communication/Journalism.
